The District 20 senator serves on several of the committees which will consider major legislative proposals such as a state hospital for mental health in the Valley and border security.

Lawyers for the National Press Photographers Association sued the state of Texas seeking to overturn the law, and won on Monday, March 28, 2022.
FEATURED: Palmhurst Mayor Ramiro J. Rodríguez, Jr., 68, who had been mayor of that community for more than than 23 years, passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2022. His death was announced by U.S. Congressman Henry Cuellar, D-Laredo.
